One founder asked to connect. Hundreds answered. This is a map of who they are and what they are building, drawn only from what they wrote themselves.

What this is

On 12 September 2026 a solo founder from Germany posted three lines on X: an age, a country, and a wish to meet other builders and indie hackers. The post was seen 2.8 million times and answered with a thousand replies and quotes, most of them in the same three-line shape. Within days the same three lines were being posted by people who had never seen the original, in posts of their own and under each other's; by the following week twenty such posts had answers of their own.

We read a sample of those posts, one by one, and wrote down what each person said about themselves: who they are, where they are, what they build. Where someone named a product, we looked for its homepage, opened it, took a picture and summarised what it says. Where several people turned out to be building the same thing without knowing each other, we drew a line around them and called it a wave.

The point is not a ranking. The point is that a sentence like this, passed from hand to hand, is the closest thing there is to a census of people building alone. For the people who wrote it the point is simpler: to see how many of us there are, and to find whom to connect with.

Where the words come from

Every fact on a card is something the person wrote in public: in their reply, or in the bio of a profile we opened. A card links to the reply it came from, so anyone can check. A homepage summary quotes the page it describes and says when it was read.

Nothing is inferred. Where someone said they are from is shown as that, "from Benin", never as where they live now, a mention of somebody else's product is not attributed to the person mentioning it, and a reposted introduction is never credited to the reposter. Places, roles and revenue are self-reported and unverified, and the site says so wherever it shows them.

Likes, reposts and follower counts were collected to find the posts and are not shown anywhere. They measure the posts, not the people.

What is not here

This is a sample of one sentence's spread across twenty seed posts, read most-recent-first, at one moment. It is not a census of independent founders, and the countries that appear most often say more about how X distributed the post than about where founders live. Most people who posted it said nothing about their work at all; they are counted on the numbers page and shown only if they said at least who they are.

Who is listed

Only people who publicly asked to connect, in so many words, in a post or a reply. That request is the reason a card exists, and the list is here so that the people who asked can see how many they are and find whom to connect with. Anyone who said they are under 18 is left out; an unknown age is accepted and never called verified adulthood, and no age is stored. A card shows where they said they are now; when all they said is where they are from, it shows that, marked "from", and the map puts them in that country.

If your card is missing something you said, or says something you did not, or you would rather not be on the map at all, sign in with X to manage your page, or use the contact page. If you are not here, the join page says how to be: post on X and ask to connect, or sign in and write your card, which a person reads before it appears. An addition is checked against something you wrote in public, the same way everything else was.

Who runs it

FellowMakers.app is published by Aleksei Krasnoperov. It is a side project, not a company. The data behind the pages is served as JSON at /api/landscape and needs no token; the developers page explains how to read it.
